Floating Rock of Ghent

Turkish artist Ahmet Öğüt created the “Castle of Vooruit”, loosely based on René Magritte’s “Le Chateau des Pyrénées” for a festival in Ghent, Belgium. The building modelled on top of the flying rock housed a workers’ cooperative from the end of the 19th century until the early 1970s.

The rock is a helium-filled balloon printed on Cameron Balloons’ in-house printer, using inks that cure with ultra-violet light.
